History of Me Mini-Project Overview
11th grade is arguably one of the most challenging years in high school, however it is much easier when students are in an environment where they are known and cared about. A student's identity and the ability to think critically both play an important role in a student's interpretation of history in addition to a positive classroom culture. During this project students will have an opportunity to share some of their life experiences with the class and gain a fresh perspective on the Habits of Mind.

Objectives
- To become better acquainted with other students on our team.
- To review/learn the meaning and use of literary devices.
- To generate a class consensus on how the Habits of Mind will be utilized in class.
Final Products
- Original “I am from...” poem!
- Habit of Mind Identity Bag!
- Side 1 represents all of the most significant events that have happened in your life.
- Side 2 represents ideas or events that have shaped your perspective on life.
- Side 3 represents evidence of your interests, hobbies, accomplishments in life.
- Side 4 represents the people that you connect with the most in your life.
- Side 5 represents the life you suppose/hope you will have in the future.
- Side 1 represents all of the most significant events that have happened in your life.

- Spend some time reflecting on you who you are, where you came from, and where your headed.
- Read sample “I am from...” poems.
- Use the categorization graphic organizer for the “I am from...” if necessary.
- Collect items, images, quotes, symbols etc. for your identity bag.
