Gunfighters Gone Good! Mini-Project Overview
For this mini-project you will delve into the lives of some of the most notorious Gunfighters in the Wild West. Though many of these individuals are often glorified in history and even considered legends, the fact of the matter is they were all criminals. It's often fascinating to explore the makings of a criminal, yet it is far more beneficial to pursue a crime free life! Throughout this project students will explore the social causes of crime past and present as well as embrace the beauty of positive decision making.

Objectives
- To research the lives of notorious gunfighters in order to gain perspective on why these individuals chose a life of crime.
- To investigate current trends in crime to better understand the progression of criminal behavior.
- To analyze what decisions can be made to prevent the path of criminal behavior.
- To develop historical fiction writing skills and public speaking skills.
Final Products
- A historical fiction piece that illustrates an alternative history for one of the notorious gunfighters. What would his/her life have been like if he/she had made different choices?
- A group presentation about specific trends in a selected area of present day crime.
